Part of the Sunda Islands of Indonesia, Bali lies between the islands of Java and Lombok. Recently a very popular resort destination, Bali weather experiences a tropical climate with even temperatures all year and two monsoon seasons. The best time to visit the island is during the dry season from June to October.
Yearly Seasons and Temperatures
The only real seasons in Bali are the wet season and the dry season. Since the December to March monsoon brings the most significant rainfall to the islands of Indonesia with some over-lapping rain, the months of June to October is the dry season.
The temperatures over the year are steady because the island is near the equator. No temperature extremes as felt in winter and summer over other parts of the world. Normal medium temperatures are 28 degrees Celsius in the coastal plains and from 26 to 28 degrees in the mountainous areas.
Yearly Precipitation
Rainfall is high in the area, with a total of around 2,000 mm per year. The number of rain storms is high also at around 300 per year. Most of the rain occurs in the wet season between December and March which reflects the same as you would expect from other nearby island destinations such as Fiji weather at that time of the year. With that in mind however, some rain falls all year and quick sun showers can be expected from time to time. Humidity ranges between 70 and 90 per cent from the dry to the wet seasons.
Yearly Winds
The monsoons are sometimes quite windy. From June to October the winds will blow, coming from the south and the east. Still, the winds are fairly expected and not overly strong.
